About:

Nicolle has a diverse background, offering extensive experience and dedication. For many years, she served as a parent educator, guiding families through every stage of parenthood. Her journey then led her to pursue a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. As a therapist she has helped clients to navigate the pressures of modern-day life. From parenting to staying connected in intimate relationships to pursuing individual goals. Additionally, in a clinical inpatient-setting, Nicolle focused on more acute mental health disorders such as Borderline Personality, Bipolar, Substance Abuse, and Schizophrenia. Committed to ongoing growth, she actively participates in continuing education to stay current in the ever evolving field of trauma-informed mental health.

Families:

For 20 years, Nicolle specialized in supporting parents as they transitioned from being a couple to parenthood, by helping them to navigate their toddlers' big feelings or guide in how to set effective, emotionally intelligent boundaries for young children. She also helps families balance an adolescent's need for autonomy with maintaining a strong connection. Nicolle provides support for families and children with diagnoses, working with kids at their level and addressing their unique needs. Her background equips her with practical strategies and tools for effective family support.

Nicolle's approach is compassionate, evidence-based, and focused on fostering healthy family dynamics.

Trauma-Informed:

Trauma can be both big and small, arising from societal influences, family history, or direct experiences. The lasting impact can range from conflicts in

intimacy, parental frustrations, or an unrelenting inner critic. More severe effects such as emotional dysregulation, anxiety and depression can leave one feeling hi-jacked and powerless to their thoughts and emotions. No matter where you are, Nicolle has extensive experience helping individuals move through deep wounds. Whether developing practical skills in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) or exploring the power of one's thoughts with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to delving into one's own interpretations of life with Narrative or Experiential approaches, Nicolle draws on her comprehensive education to support your unique journey toward healing and growth.

Couples:

For couples therapy, Nicolle dives into the underlying needs and emotions behind behaviors. She encourages couples to slow down and pause, whether addressing issues proactively or responding to current tensions. Using Emotionally Focused Therapy, she emphasizes enhancing communication skills and understanding one another through a new lens.

Approach:

Overall, Nicolle adopts a holistic approach to her clients, tailoring personalized plans that prioritize their beliefs, aspirations, and core values. She enthusiastically welcomes anyone seeking support on their mental health journey.
